The Port of San Diego has set sail on this year’s cruise season.
According to a press release sent to Times of San Diego, this season will offer 75 different voyages and is expected to bring 265,000 passengers to the region.
“Together, we will create unforgettable experiences for travelers while showcasing the beauty of San Diego Bay and its waterfront,” said San Diego Port Commissioner Sid Voorakkara.
The schedule includes longterm port partners Holland America Line and Disney Cruise Line, as well as Princess Cruises, Viking Cruises and Silversea Cruises. Making their first visits to San Diego this season are the Viking Neptune and the Viking Sea, port officials said.
Holland America Line will be offering a 51-day excursion of the South Pacific, the longest voyage of the season. Other destinations include Mexico, the Panama Canal and Hawaii.
San Diego is California’s third busiest cruise port behind Long Beach and Los Angeles. This cruise season is expected to inject over $11 million into the local economy.
