The inaugural Players Era Festival hoops matchups during Thanksgiving week at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas have been revealed.
The event is divided into two four-team groups, including San Diego State, with each team getting three games within the group. The Aztecs, competing in the “Power” group, will play Creighton, Oregon and Texas A&M at the fest, which begins Nov. 26.
All four teams reached the NCAA Tournament last season and each won its opening game. Creighton and San Diego State advanced to the Sweet 16 with the Aztecs losing to eventual champion Connecticut and the Bluejays falling to Tennessee.
SDSU and Creighton open “Power” group play at 11 a.m. Nov. 26 with the game set to air on TBS. Creighton holds a 5-4 lead in the all-time series, but SDSU holds the advantage in the last four matchups, which took place on a neutral floor.
The Aztecs face Oregon at 1 p.m. Nov. 27 with the game to be shown on MAX. The teams have split the all-time series three games apiece, but have not met since an 80-68 SDSU win in Viejas Arena in 1997.
SDSU wraps up its appearance at the festival at 4 p.m. Nov. 30 against Texas A&M, a program it has yet to play. The game is set for broadcast on TNT.
For teams that finish with the same record within their prospective groups, tie breakers will be used to determine final standings, including head-to-head record, total point differential, points scored, points allowed and lastly, pre-tournament NET rankings.
Tickets for the event go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday.
